Companion Promises Audiences a Quirky New Sci-Fi Thriller

Warner Bros. has just unveiled the wildly unpredictable trailer for their upcoming psychological thriller, Companion—directed by Drew Hancock in his feature-length debut—teasing a suspenseful and zany cinematic experience for moviegoers.

Companion (2025) | Warner Bros.

From what’s shown, Companion tells the chilling story of Josh (played by Jack Quaid) and Iris (played by Sophie Thatcher), a couple who escape to a secluded cabin for a much-needed retreat. However, what starts as a romantic getaway quickly spirals into a nightmare when Iris discovers a dark secret about Josh. Trapped in an isolated location, Iris must navigate a web of deceit and danger as she fights for her life.

The trailer sets the tone with its eerie, atmospheric visuals and suspenseful score, drawing viewers into the unsettling (yet, apparently eccentric) world of the film. The tension escalates with each passing scene, showcasing Quaid's transformation from a seemingly loving partner to a menacing figure.

Companion boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Harvey Guillén, Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, and Rupert Friend—with its core cast teasing themes of manipulation, survival, and the dark complexities of relationships before the film comes to a bloody halt. In other words, we’re sold!

Companion is scheduled for release on January 31, 2025. Check out the film’s official trailer below.
